Hi, I’m Jennifer — founder of Bone Worx, enrichment junkie, and your dog’s favorite treat dealer.
In 2016, I launched Bone Worx with a single goal: to help humans and their dogs live in harmony. My passion for people led me to volunteer at the Oregon Humane Society and the Pixie Project, where I rolled up my sleeves and dove headfirst into the wonderfully wild world of canine behavior. From stubborn sitters to over-enthusiastic jumpers, I’ve seen it all—and loved every minute.
I am a Dachshund lover! These pint-sized dogs have always had a place in my heart, regardless of how stubborn they are.

I train dogs with kindness, not intimidation. That means no shock collars, prong collars, or leash jerks. Nope. I’m all about Force-Free training—teaching without pain, fear, or coercion.
My go-to method?
Positive Reinforcement. It means I add something your dog loves—like treats or toys. I encourage good behavior.
I also use a bit of Negative Punishment—but don’t let the name scare you. It simply means removing something to discourage unwanted behavior. Is Fido getting too rowdy during playtime? A quick pause from the fun helps him learn to dial it down.
And, of course, I manage the environment to keep things calm and set your dog up for success because no one—human or canine—learns well in chaos.
So, in short, I combine science, snacks, and sanity to help your dog learn in the most positive way possible.
I became a Certified Dog Trainer in 2016 after graduating from Animal Behavior College. That same year, I joined Doggy Business, where I dove headfirst into training playgroups alongside the legendary Doug Duncan. Think: 4-hour sessions with 20–25 dogs and a whole lot of tail-wagging chaos turned into structured learning.
These playgroups were more than just puppy parties—they were boot camps. I honed my ability to read behavior, think on my feet, and craft personalized training plans, all while learning that while every dog is unique, the learning path has a common thread.
Beyond the play yard, I teamed up with Doug on the more challenging cases—think fear and aggression, reactivity, shyness, and confidence-building. Whether the issue was leash drama, dog-dog tension, or human-directed fear, we tackled it with patience, strategy, and a whole lot of treats.
I earned my stripes again at the Animal Behavioral College in 2016 and emerged as a Certified Pet Sitter—officially trained and obsessed.
I'm part of the Pet Professionals Guild and Pet Sitters International—because your pets deserve nothing less than top-tier care.
Education doesn't mean graduation. I stay sharp (and paws-itively ahead) by diving into workshops, seminars, conventions, and geeking out with fellow dog training pros. If it makes tails wag and pets happier, I'm all in.
I earned my Dog Bite Prevention Educator certification in 2021. PetTech CPR & First Aid is re-certified each year, and I never leave home without my trusty first-aid kit and emergency gear—because safety isn't optional when you walk on the wild side.
I graduated from the Dog*Tec Dog Walking Academy in 2017, officially earning my stripes as a professional dog walker. Yes, it is a thing.
These days, I specialize in reactive, fearful, and aggressive dogs. My walks often involve more strategy than a chess match, accompanied by treats and tactical leash maneuvers.
Many dogs turn into barky, lungy cyclones the moment they encounter an unfamiliar dog, human, or suspicious-looking lawn ornament. Suddenly, a peaceful stroll turns into a high-stress episode of “Who Barked It Best?”
That’s where I come in. I help identify triggers, manage reactivity, and guide both dogs and their owners through tailored compassionate training. It’s not magic—it’s science, patience, and a lot of liver treats.
Forget one-size-fits-all. At Bone Worx, I personalize every service to meet your needs and your dog’s quirks. Got a shy rescue who needs gentle encouragement? A high-energy herder who treats your furniture like an agility course? I design sessions that work and make them fun for everyone involved. Plus, I’m not just here for your dog. I’m here for you, too — to give you peace of mind, push you out of your comfort zone, encourage you, and maybe even a little more time to enjoy your coffee before it goes cold.
I'm out there every day — rain, shine, or sideways sleet — because your dog's tail-wagging happiness waits for no forecast. Raincoat? Locked and loaded. Towel for soggy paws? Always on hand. Relentless drive to keep your dog moving and grooving? You better believe it.
My schedule bends like a yoga instructor to fit your chaos — whether you're juggling Zoom marathons, soccer drop-offs, or mysteriously vanishing into the Target vortex. Need a lunchtime leg stretch for your dog? An evening energy burn? Say the word — I'm on it.
In 2021, I earned my Canine Enrichment Technician Certification.
I am an enrichment JUNKIE! It is an essential activity that taps into your dog's breed-specific behaviors and stimulates your dog's body and mind, encouraging them to do what they were born to do—sniff, dig, chase, problem-solve, and play. It reduces stress, builds confidence, and even helps with issues like separation anxiety. Best of all, it's scientifically backed!
Whether you've got a high-drive herder or scent hound, every dog thrives when their environment supports their instincts.
The best part? You don't need hours or a ton of money. Enrichment can be as simple as a cardboard box and some treats.
Ready to give your dog the time, attention, and training they deserve? Let's connect! Whether your dog needs a walk, a training session, or a weekend buddy while you're away, Bone Worx is your one-stop shop for wagging tails and happy trails.
Whether your dog is a professional couch potato or an aspiring squirrel chaser, I'm here to bring harmony to your home; one tail wag at a time.
Don't forget to check me out on Facebook and Instagram. Follow, like, or DM - your dog will thank you (probably with a lick to the face).
