 "Jennifer helped us so much with our new puppy Lexi. Since we are older and have not had a puppy for many years, Jennifer came alongside us bringing puppy toys, treats, and handouts to read but most of all she showed us how to have fun with our puppy and was very supportive along the way.  "Our boxer/pit bull mix, Finn, LOVES Jennifer. He's had a patchwork past, so we were very thoughtful and cautious about introducing someone to care for him when we're away. Jennifer knew how to get Finn comfortable around her with just a few preliminary visits - we had expected that process would take months! She went to a lot of trouble to learn our usual routines, Finn's ways of communicating, and all the things he enjoys. When we've returned from trips Finn is soooo relaxed from Jennifer's therapeutic massages that we know for sure we don't have to worry about his being upset while we're away. "I cannot say enough good things about our experience!
I have watched videos and read books, and taken dog classes but working with Jennifer is what finally made a difference.
I have worked for literally YEARS on the dogs barking at people coming up on the porch, and with Jennifer’s help, that problem all but disappeared in a week.
She helped us develop strategies for leash aggression and for our very serious problem of one of our dogs wanting to bite guests who come into our home.
Our training experience felt very individualized to our dogs. I feel like she really took the time to get to know our dogs and us and to give us training tools that work for them.

"We are so lucky to have Jennifer in our corner as we continue to get to know our gentle giant, Barkley, who even after two years challenges us every day

Barkley is a 105-pound pit mix who we adopted at 2-ish years old from a shelter. We don’t know his history before that. This guy is super-strong and energetic. We learned early on that he has guarding tendencies. In the first few weeks after he arrived in our home, he was on high-alert at every sound outside the house.

I’ve had big pit mixes before, but I realized quickly that I was out of my depth with this guy. We started to worry about how he would react to people coming to the door, unknown-to-him visitors in our home, etc. We needed help.

So we found Jennifer, and she’s been a treasure and friend as Barkley has settled in and become a (mostly!) good boy in our home. Starting with training sessions, where Jennifer helped us get some insight into the reasons he behaves the way he does and how to ease his mind, to the toys and techniques she recommended to redirect his energy, to her tips for using strict routines to help him know what to expect so he feels secure, I know I’m a better dog-guardian now thanks to Jennifer’s care.

These days, Jenn walks Mr. B twice a week and I know by the way he waits by the door every morning (just hoping it’s Tuesday or Thursday…is she coming today!!?!) he loves her just as he loves us."

I was looking for a pet sitter and she reached out and offered to come over and meet my problematic boxer, Willie. “I can’t recommend Jennifer enough! She house sat my 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks while I was out of town for eleven days and I could not have left them in better hands. Jennifer took the time to meet me and my dogs before accepting the job to make sure it was a good fit for everyone. "I had an amazing experience with Jennifer. I adopted my dog from a shelter. He is a sweet boy, but he is already 1yr old and has never been trained before. We had a lot of work to do from potty training to separation anxiety. Jennifer customized our training to fit our needs, which was the best part of our experience with her. She came to my place and she took the time tolearn about me and my dog. She is very detailed oriented and very knowledgeable. I followed her instructions and everything she suggested worked really well for me and my dog. In less than two months he learned basic commands, improved in potty training, and his separation anxiety has decreased a lot. The customized training to my needs was definitely the key to success. "I rescued a young husky from a shelter 6 months ago. He was over 8 months old and had no prior training. He had major anxiety from his shelter life as well as very mouthy and high energy. "From the time I met Jennifer on a ‘Meet and Greet’ I knew she was the one I would feel comfortable with for my bouncy golden retriever. She listened to me, made NO judgements and interacted with Cabo in the absolute best manner. You see, Cabo is a VERY excitable dog and needs a lot of focus and patience. I can’t trust him with anyone. Jennifer proved from the first meet, that she was the one I could trust to treat Cabo with patience, love and kindness, even when he could be challenging.

Not only has she proved to be who I thought she was, but she is the same with me. She listens, non-judgementally and is always responsive to my requests or questions. We have hired her to come and take Cabo out in our country back yard for visits on days when I will be gone for most of the day. I don’t really get to see her on these times, so relying on text and email is key. Her dedication and love of her job, combined with a clear understanding of the individual dog is evident always.

I hope to use her services as a trainer at some point. I can’t recommend her enough. You will be amazed at her skills!"

"We highly recommend Jennifer and Bone Worx.  We rescued a handsome amazing puppy, Finnegan, at six-months from the Oregon Humane Society.  Little Finnegan had a lot of trauma in his young life and was labeled anxious and fearful.  He was exactly that, extremely fearful and anxious. 

With Jennifer’s help and guidance, we brought Finnegan home to provide the love and patience he was never shown.  Finnegan needed to be housetrained, would not go in and out of the house, would not walk more than one-half of a block, so much fear.  Jennifer came to our home with handouts, training materials, and helped us with our new family member.  First, Jennifer loves dogs so very much and it shows in everything she does with us.  Second, as we learned about Finnegan and his needs, Jennifer showed us that Finnegan needed to do things on his own time.  Finnegan had never been walked on a leash and we started ever-so-slowly with this training.  We have been working with Jennifer for the past six months and Finnegan is now a happy healthy boy who walks on a leash, loves people and dogs, who has learned to successfully go up and down stairs, go into the big scary garage, and a major step for Finnegan was to get into a car.  He was terrified of cars.  Finnegan now happily jumps into the back of the car to go for rides.

Jennifer has worked diligently with us both showing us how to let Finnegan overcome his fears.  She helps us reinforce training; always helps us to make sure everything is in place for Finnegan to be successful.  Jennifer provides an amazing amount of support for us!  What a great teacher and we wholeheartedly recommend her.

Our little guy is now a 60-pound healthy boy with a smile on his face who is loving life.  Finnegan can still be a little anxious, but we have the tools to deal with the anxiety due to Jennifer’s caring, patience, and love for us as a family.  We are now working on Finnegan slowly learning to be alone for a while.  As he had never been alone, this is a process which Jennifer clearly laid out for us.  She has incredible knowledge about dog behavior and is the best teacher ever!

We cannot image our world without Jennifer in it.  Her expertise, support, and love for our boy made all the difference in Finnegan becoming such a loving dog."

"I hired Jeni because I was at a point where I was dreading walking my dog. Eddie, very friendly off-leash, was very aggressive to other dogs we would meet walking when he was leashed. 

Jeni took the time to get to know Eddie and understand what our issues were. She provided me with some educational information that really helped me understand Eddie and his point of view.

"We have a 4-year-old anxious Aussie and a 1.5-year-old hyper Border Collie. We’ve been to several different classes, tried medications, met a behaviorist, and nothing seemed to work. For a long time, we felt defeated and that our dogs behavior was a poor reflection of us. People would stare as we’d get out of the car with our screaming dogs and assume we let them run wild. One of the best things about Jennifer is how warm and welcoming she is. I never felt judged -even when Duncan farted right next to her, or when Finn screamed endlessly during their first meeting, or when we didn’t do our “homework.” She took the time to understand our family dynamics and how we work. Jennifer used a holistic approach with her training and provided guidance that aligned with our family and the needs of our dogs. It was the first time I heard, “if this doesn’t work for your family let’s try something else.” For years we’d be repeating the same training tools with no success. Jennifer helped us recognize that we could modify our approach to get positive results. Just like humans, dogs need some extra encouragement at times! Overall she’s been a gift to work with. She’s provided us with training resources and different dog activity ideas (like agility). She is truly invested in our family and has been so incredibly patient. "I’ve been working with Jeni for 6 plus months with my almost 2-year-old boxer Jorja. We started with a meet and greet to see what needed addressing. First it was not jumping on people when they came to visit, that’s really hard with a boxer! Got that under control and moved on to not pulling when we’re walking. We’re still working on that, but with all of Jeni’s great informational pamphlets, her amazing ability to figure out what’s wrong and a plan to fix it, I’m confident I’ll get Jorja under control.
